I forgot my Orb password: how can I recover it? |

If you forgot your Orb password, Orb cannot retrieve it as your password is encrypted and never stored in Orb’s database as entered at the time it was created. Therefore, you will have to create a new password.
Here is how it works:
1. Click the “Forgot your password?” link Orb login box (on mycast.orb.com): you will be required to provide your Orb login to identify yourself.
2. Orb will check its user database to see if there is a verified email address on record for your login:
2.a If there is one, Orb will send to that email address a temporary password along with instructions on how to change that password;
2.b If the email address on record has never been verified, Orb will prompt you to re-enter that email address (i.e., the one you used when you first created your Orb account): if you enter the correct email address, Orb verifies it and sends you the temporary password to that email address; if you do not enter the correct email address, the process aborts and you will not be able to use that same Orb account again.
3. Once you receive the email with your temporary password, login with that password on mycast.orb.com, then go to Open Application > Control Panel > User Account (from the pulldown menu) > Password > Click the “Click here to change your password” link
4. Enter a new password of your choice. This will de-activate your temporary password.
This is the only mechanism to get a new password. Orb Networks cannot retrieve a lost password.
Note: if you happen to remember your original password after completing step 1) above, simply ignore the temporary password you will receive in step 3), and use that original password. The temporary password will be automatically de-activated the first time you log in again with your original password.
