If you get "PC not connected to Orb server" error verify that:
- Your computer is properly connected to the Internet
- Your Internet Service Provider is not experiencing temporary difficulties
- Orb is running on your computer, and the Orb tray icon is green
- You have enabled all Orb applications to access the Internet in your firewall or anti-virus software
- You are using the correct Orb login and password you created on your home PC
- Your computer may have DNS resolution problem for the Orb servers.
To verify this:
- Click on
Start, then
Run..., and type
cmd in the "Open:" field. The Windows Command Line will open.
- At the command line prompt (black window with a blinking cursor), type:
ping proxy1.orb.com or
proxy2.orb.com
If you get "
Request timed out" then you should contact your ISP for assistance. You can also look at your
OrbClient.log, it will give you some clue.
If after verifying the above, your Orb PC still cannot connect to Orb's servers, please email your Orb
logs folder to
userlogs@orb.com so Orb's technical support staff can help you.
