Why do I get black video and no sound at all when streaming Live TV? |
||||
If you only get black video and no sound when streaming Live TV, it may be because the wrong TV input (Channel 2, 3, 4, Composite or S-Video) was selected for your set-top box, during the Orb TV setup.
To correct this, click the Orb tray icon > Configuration > Setup TV Signal and Provider to reconfigure your TV setup and select the correct port for your TV signal when prompted.
If you are not sure which channel number has your coaxial connection been set to, just grab your TV remote (not the set-top box remote) and switch channel. You should get "snow" or no signal on channels other than the one your STB is connected to.
Note: if the tuning of your set-top box is set to another channel than 2, 3 or 4, select Channel 2, Click Next and then you can change the TuningChannel in your Windows registry (USUAL DISCLAIMER: Use the Registry Editor at your own risk) at : HKEY | LOCAL MACHINE | Software | OrbNetworks | Orb | OrbTVBuffer | TuningChannel and change the existing value for the TuningChannel REG_DWORD to the correct channel number.
