OrbSecure feature is not available in 2.5x series.

To configure OrbSecure, Orb’s video surveillance system, to send an SMS (text) message to your phone or an email notification if any motion is detected by the webcam connected to your Orb PC:

If you are in the US, to configure OrbSecure, follow these steps:

1.  Log on to your Orb account at mycast.orb.com;

2.  Click Open Application > TV/Webcams, then click Webcams in the Navigation panel on the left to display your webcam in the main Content panel;

3.  In the Content Panel, click the Webcam you want to set up for video surveillance, then click the OrbSecure button in the Properties panel at the bottom of the screen;

4.  Click Configure in the OrbSecure window that pops up, then:

4a. check the Start recording checkbox and enter the number of minutes you want OrbSecure to record when motion is detected

4b. to receive an SMS notification: check the Send SMS checkbox and enter your 10-digit US phone number (no space)

4c. to receive an email notification: check the Send email checkbox and enter your email address

4d. enter the number of minutes you would like to elapse after OrbSecure stops recording, before it resumes monitoring, then click OK to exit the OrbSecure configuration.

5.  Click Start OrbSecure: “OrbSecure if off” should turn to “OrbSecure is on” indicating that monitoring has been initiated.

Note that you will have a bubble pop up in the system tray of your Orb PC with the text “Orb is recording”.

If you are outside of the US, the configuration for email notification is the same as for the US. So see the above steps.

However, to receive an SMS (text) notification, you need to know the SMS address of your mobile phone service provider * as follows:

a. (non-US) enter both your phone number and your mobile phone service provider SMS address in the following the format: PhoneNumber@ProviderSMSAddress.

Example:
Service Provider SMS address
Rogers Canada pcs.rogers.com
SFR France sfr.fr
T-Mobile UK t-mobile.uk.net
Swisscom bluewin.ch

So if, for example, your cell phone number is (987) 654-3210 and your service provider is Rogers Canada, you would enter in the SMS field of your OrbSecure configuration:

9876543210@pcs.rogers.com

* To find out what your mobile service provider SMS address is, you can check web sites that maintain a list of international SMTP gateway addresses, like notepage.net at (http://www.notepage.net/smtp.htm)

Note: Service providers usually have an additional charge to send or receive SMS messages. Check with your provider beforehand for details of those charges.
