Why does Orb launch WMP to stream my Internet TV channel when I selected Real media in Orb Control Panel (or vice-versa)?

Whenever Orb transcodes the stream from an Internet TV or radio channel, it sends the stream from the Web to your Orb PC where it is transcoded, and then back to your device on the Web to play it. This is by design. Orb will not unnecessarily transcode a stream if your device has the native player installed and enough bandwidth to stream it at its original bit rate.

So, whenever Orb determines that your device download speed is high enough to play the media stream as is and Orb detects that you have the correct media player installed on this device, then Orb will connect directly to the Internet TV channel's URL and launch the stream.

Note: Streaming of .ra, .ram Internet TV / Internet Radio URLs are not supported in 2.5x series.
