How can I use DirectStream (UPnP) for Windows media if TCP port 80 is already used by another application? |

**** This article is applicable only for 2.0x series of Orb ****
(To know your Orb version, click Orb tray icon - About) If your Windows media TCP port 80 is already in use by another application, you can change this port on your Orb PC in Orb tray icon > Configuration > More info (or Advanced, depending on your Orb version), and change the Windows Media port from the default 80 to another port (i.e., 8080, 81, etc.).
If your router does not have UPnP capability and you want to be able to use DirectStream in Orb (i.e., stream directly from your Orb PC to your Orb client device, bypassing Orb stream servers), you will need to forward this newly-assigned Windows Media port to your Orb PC. For instructions on how to set up port forwarding on your router, see Orb’s Support Knowledge Base article:
Keep in mind that, if you change your port from the standard TCP port 80, you may no longer be able to stream Windows media from a PC or laptop which accesses the Internet via a proxy server or which is behind a corporate firewall (like in many companies), since such corporate LAN usually denies communication on other ports than the standard TCP port 80.
Note: if Skype is running on your Orb PC, you may want to prevent it from locking your TCP port 80 as follows: with Skype open, navigate to Tools > Options… > Connection and uncheck Use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections.
