How come I am missing files when I browse my media folders on my Orb account? |
||||
**** This article is applicable only for 2.0x series of Orb ****
(To know your Orb version, click Orb tray icon - About) If you find that not all your files are displayed when browsing media folders on your Orb account, verify that:
a) the folder(s) containing the missing files is(are) added as Orb media folder(s) and listed in Orb tray icon > Configuration > Media on your Orb PC;
b) the file extension(s) of the missing files is(are) listed in your account configuration: log in at http://mycast.orb.com, click Open Application > Control Panel > then select Audio (Photo/Video/Documents) from the pulldown menu > Media Extensions;
c) if the missing files are located on an external USB drive or a network drive, these drives did not enter a sleep-mode due to inactivity, or are not simply powered off.
If all 3 conditions above can be verified, then try this: 1. Log in to your Orb account
2. Click Open Application > then Audio (or Photo/Video/Documents, as applicable)
3. Expand the Browse Folders menu item in the Navigation panel on the left, and click the drive which contains the files Orb fails to display
4. Click Rescan Folder on the toolbar of the content panel to re-index all the files of that drive
5. When the re-indexing of your folder completes (time will vary with the number of files on that drive), click the folder icon of that drive again to refresh its contents
6. Verify that the missing files are now displayed in their media folders as expected.
Note: The first time you install Orb, if you have a very large media library, it may take longer than usual (normally a few minutes) for Orb to create your media database and index all your files so they can be displayed when you first access your Orb account from the Web, i.e., via http://mycast.orb.com.
