Recommended Third-Party Codecs

The Orb installation provides all the codecs you need to stream in Orb. So, you don't have to install any, except for the following:

Real Alternative codec - download and install this codec if you want to stream Real media files (RAM, RA, RM, etc.) but you do not have RealPlayer installed on your Orb PC.

FFDshow codec - download and install this codec only if you want to enable subtitles overlay when streaming videos in Orb. Note, however, that you must first uninstall the Orb default codec, (OrbSourceFilter.ax) from your Orb PC, as follows:

1. From your Windows desktop, click Start > Run... and type cmd in the 'Open:' box
2. navigate to the Orb\bin folder (default location is C:\Program Files\Orb Networks\Orb\bin)
3.  unregister the OrbSourceFilter.ax by typing regsvr32 /u OrbSourceFilter.ax and press Enter
4. Download and install FFDshow

Obsolete Orb software

The following Orb Add-ons and modules are obsolete and no longer supported:

- VideoMail
- OrbThis
- DVR Everywhere
- V4S (Voicemail for Skype)

Previous versions of Orb

If you experienced a problem with the current version of Orb, try to uninstall it and revert to a previous version. Note, however, that you need Orb version 2.01.0013 or higher to stream to your iPhone/iPod Touch via OrbLive.
